TotalEnergies to offer in-depot truck-charging service

France-based TotalEnergies has taken advantage of the SOLUTRANS trade show for industrial and urban transportation to launch a new service that will enable firms to charge their fleets of electric vehicles while in the depot.

Electric trucks can now handle distances of around 150–500 kilometres, making them suitable for regional and urban deliveries. In response, TotalEnergies has now developed a new solution whereby it installs and supervises charging points in a way that can be tailored to meet the specific needs of transporters. The offering can comprise slower charging points that require around 12 hours to fully recharge a vehicle, such as for charging trucks when they park in a depot overnight. Ultra-fast charging points are also available for when more expedient charging is required, with these being offered at up to 400 kW. TotalEnergies will also provide green electricity to power the chargers and offer support for managing them.

TotalEnergies’ Senior VP for marketing and new mobility, Mathieu Soulas, said that to achieve a large-scale decarbonisation of transportation on the road, it:

“…is critical to develop infrastructure and provide transporters with low-carbon solutions. Backed by our close ties with the transport sector and our strong position in electric mobility in Europe, TotalEnergies has developed a solution tailored to transporters’ needs to support them in their fleet management and energy transition.”

As well as providing energy services, TotalEnergies also makes the Total range of advanced lubricants. Speak with our team to discuss how you could benefit from products like the Total Azolla hydraulic oil.
