British oil company Castrol recently signed a new sponsorship agreement with the Mexican Federation of Football and Soccer United Marketing, which is the Mexico National Football Team’s commercial partner.

Under the multi-year deal, the leading lubricant brand that delivers products ranging from rust preventative to slideway oil will act as the official lubricant and motor oil on the nation’s US tour (MexTour) being undertaken by both its women’s and men’s teams.

The news follows a series of sports-related marketing deals for Castrol, with similar agreements having been forged with the WNBA, NBA and NASCAR. While the lubricant maker has sponsored the Mexican National Football Team in their native country, the new agreement marks the first time it has supported them on US soil.

The extended business relationship between Castrol and the Mexican Federation of Football activated this year when the Mexican Men’s National Team played against Paraguay in Texas. The Castrol brand was prominently advertised at the event via fan experiences, stadium displays and LED-powered signage.

With the new agreement continuing into 2026, a full programme has been planned that includes media events, retailer activities and promotions.

Commenting on the new concord, CEO and president of Castrol Americas, Andreas Osbar, said that the company shared the same values of performance and protection as the athletic teams they sponsored. He added that the multi-year agreement connected Castrol with one of the most dedicated and passionate communities in the world of sports.

Through MexTour, Mexico’s National Football Team has been playing in the US for 22 years.
