TotalEnergies has purchased West Burton energija , which owns and operates a gas-fired power station in Nottinghamshire, za 450 milijonov funtov.

The acquisition of flexible power generation capacity complements the renewable power generation that TotalEnergies has in the UK by enabling it to mitigate the intermittency and supply a stable stream of electricity to its customers. TotalEnergies, which makes the Total lubricant and metalworking range, currently has 1.1 GW of renewable generation with a further 4.5 GW in the works. To support this, the company has estimated it needs 700 MW in flexible power generation from gas, so it plans to sell half of the assets it has recently required.
TotalEnergies’ president for power and gas, Stéphane Michel, expressed his delight at welcoming the team at West Burton B, adding:
